# Keep personal concerns in the care conversation

Ask the person treating you how each concern relates to the medicine being discussed.

## Ask about your circumstances

Bring questions about your current medicines, past reactions and any pregnancy plans. Ask which parts of your history would change the decision.

The US medicine review agency, FDA, does not check pharmacy-mixed drugs before sale. There is no check of their quality, benefit or safety beforehand, as checked September 26, 2026.

### A label belongs to a specific product

A compounded drug has no FDA-reviewed information on use during pregnancy or while nursing.

Ask to read the drug’s own information together. Ask which parts matter for you. A broad claim about peptides cannot answer that.

## Do not solve unclear measurements online

FDA reported errors in the amount taken of pharmacy-mixed semaglutide, a medicine used for weight and diabetes care. Some reports involved hospital stays, as checked September 26, 2026.

A dose is the amount of a drug taken at once. Ask the prescriber or pharmacist about any unclear part of your own label.

## Know where to get urgent help

With severe allergy symptoms, MedlinePlus directs people to emergency help; breathing trouble and tongue swelling are examples.

Ask during the visit how to handle other concerns. Write down how to reach the person in charge of later care.

## A medicine problem can also be reported

You can report a drug problem to FDA through its MedWatch program.

A report alone does not prove the drug caused the problem.
