# Pause where the offer leaves a gap

A pleasing website can still leave the medicine, the person and the follow-up unclear.

← The opening page

## No prescription is requested

Supplying a prescription drug requires a valid prescription written by a licensed prescriber, under federal law checked September 26, 2026.

Leave that offer aside. Discuss the concern that led you to the offer with a licensed doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant.

### A lab product is offered as treatment

The US medicine review agency, FDA, warns against unapproved weight-loss products that have research labels yet are offered as treatment for people. This warning was checked September 26, 2026.

A product meant for lab work does not provide a treatment plan.

## A compounded drug is called approved

A compounded drug is one mixed or prepared by a pharmacy. Calling it FDA-approved is false, under FDA’s position checked September 26, 2026.

Request the full product name and the basis for calling that product approved.

Being on FDA’s business register does not tell you whether a medicine has FDA approval.

## The pharmacy stays unnamed

FDA notes that people using online compounding services may not know who actually prepared the medicine.

Ask for that name before deciding. Then check the state record rather than a website badge.

### A low price does all the talking

FDA treats an offer at an unbelievably low price as a warning sign. There is no price cutoff here: a legitimate cash price or a generic medicine can also cost much less. Use the price as a reason to check the prescription process and pharmacy licence, rather than as proof of a problem.

Ask who supplies the medicine and who will answer questions after it arrives.
